In 2012, Ghana recorded a total of 848,387 malaria cases, with the Tema Metropolis recording the highest of 113,924, representing 13 percent.
Thus, the founder of Decent and Love Association, Mr. Evans Peprah, has stated that the country needs the conscious effort of all to fight against poor sanitation and indiscipline to save the over 3,000 people that perish yearly because of malaria.
He said poor sanitation was one contributor of malaria, and the only way to control it was through environmental protection and cleanness.
Mr. Peprah was speaking at the launch of the Association, dubbed “Improving Sanitation in our locality” in Accra, Saturday.
He said the main aim of the association was to aid already existing organisations to fight against indiscipline and poor sanitation in the country.
He added that its policies were geared at addressing the rowdiness of the youth, who the future and the dream of the nation, and also promoting Ghanaian culture.
